I just gave them 200 megs on my server but maybe they will need more. I am too poor to add another user name on my host account, so having their own web account would be great -- very helpful and much more useful for them.
These guys really are making some truly great VSTi and sample disks.

Moshi, moshi...
Although this is not a snippity, snappy comeback, the facts are I will not learn anything to translate what I need into my native language since the time I spend on my music is what generates income for me. $99 or $99k, I don't care and I don't care if it's the best sounds in the world, I don't have the time to waste on "translating" the "non-"kanji Chinese characters. I wouldn't even have written this if this wouldn't be a point that 1,000,000 other native US inbreads wouldn't agree to, either. If you want to limit your market and refuse the extra money, go ahead, I don't really care because I don't have the time to spend away from (one of my) income source(s). A basic law of commerce is that the more accessible and the easier that you can make it for the intended audience, the more likely they will be to purchase. All I'm saying is that if you want to offer this to an English-speaking market then have an English version of your web site with all English descriptions and English GUI's. Not making a point or even barking at anything. But if you're attracting those on a professional level for the quality of these sounds, we won't spend it on stuff we shouldn't have to do just to make something work.

This seems a bit harsh, though I realize you are only speaking your mind. I'm nobody, but I vote people give these guys a chance to recoup a little bit from their initial efforts and gain the momentum necessary to make it all "perfect" later. Enthusiasm has obviously taken its toll here and they wanted to get these samples out there. I mean, if I wanted to sell some of my hard work to the Chinese market it would take me quite a while to find someone I trusted (and who was willing) to translate all my crap into some form of Chinese script. No doubt they are also facing a similar dilemma. One need only read the site to see that there is a bit of disconnect in the presentation. I believe this is to be expected and not only tolerated but embraced. Personally, I love what I know of Chinese culture and music and wish more people there had a chance to interact with the West.PaulG wrote:Moshi, moshi...

HUH? "Moshi moshi" is Japanese. "non-kanji Chinese characters" does not exist. There's no such thing. Kanji means "Chinese characters" and are used by the Japanese (they borrowed it from the Chinese), and it is only relevant when talking about Japanese because only the Japanese refer to Chinese characters as kanji. So, "non-kanji characters" would be referring to hiragana and katagana--and those are stricly Japanese characters.PaulG wrote:Moshi, moshi...

There is nothing Japanese about this product or this company. I have no idea why you're bringing Japanese arguments into this.

What's this "we" shit? You don't speak for me or most "Professional level" Americans you f**king doofus! But if you're attracting those on a professional level for the quality of these sounds, we won't spend it on stuff we shouldn't have to do just to make something work.
How about they are working on an english translation as we speak and I am helping them? They're a relatively new group of devs in China who work very hard. They really are doing the best they can at the moment though.
Or does it simply tweak your puny-ass because you got caught jacking off when you should have been eating your Count Chokula what mommy said to do and felt like you needed to go and rain some child-like bullshit on people you know nothing about?
Get a grip, grow up, and most definitely f**k off you whinging little fuckwit.

Hey, if you need any help, just let me know. I'm 100% fluent in both English and Chinese, in reading, writing, speaking..etc. 100% meaning the equivalent of Shakespeare in both languages is not a problem (I can write novels in both languages)....xander wrote: How about they are working on an english translation as we speak and I am helping them? It's so-called "Americans" who are culturally ignorant retards like this one that are a general embarrassment to to our country.
I bet he thinks sushi comes from Poland and everyone in Tokyo speaks Greek.

Why not PM Kong Audio when you have the time -- it would take you mere minutes to read their page and whip up a text fle xlation they can put into their HTML -- something what might take me a month of Sundays!
These really are some nice people doing some great work. A little help now and then for the Devs is what we're all about, yeah?

xander - simply because I have way too much on my plates already. I'm teaching an online digital painting workshop, doing my own oil paintings, writing screenplays and novels, composing new music..etc. If I take this on, I could only help out as a consultant, but not actual hardwork, since that would take my my sleeping time as well. LOL

I am sure that whatever help you can find the time to give is cool.
They are known to be quite generous to those who help.
