It's in the works but I do not dare to give any dates by now!tkmattson wrote:In the same vein, I don't want to appear needy, but how are those OSX AU, and eventual OSX VST ports coming? Me can't wait.

Torben,
You probably make the most beautiful looking FX plug-ins. My eyes actually rest when I look at that GUI.

Taking a close look at the GUI shot you posted, here are my first impressions and a few suggestive thoughts
.
The most important visual compressor feedbacks, input and gain reduction are easy to read.
The EQ display is easy to grasp as well. It's a pleasant colour sheme to me.
The threshold, ratio, attack and release dials seem overloaded with values. They can shure do with half of those, especially since a field displaying the numerical value of the dial's setting is provided as well.
Using a compressor is usualy a matter of tuning it by ear, so graphical overload won't help me concentrate whenever I look at the dials. The easy to read level meters and EQ curves look fine.
May I suggest the following:
Section presets for the compressors and EQs at least. Waves X-Noise has an interesting preset system that lets you load the captured noise spectrum or both that and the threshold and NR setting. I'm one of the users who may want to try different compression settings on a certain EQ.
Highlighting of the numerical value boxes in the EQ section, when graphically editing the EQ. Optionable. The Waves EQs actualy fail quite miserably here. Searching EQs for changing numbers is not nice.
Small level meter to for each section, to check for clipping, if your plugin doesn't already handle this by itself. Is this even an issue with floating point values ? What will happen in the compressor if the EQ overshoots the 0dB mark and that signal is sent to the compressor?
Central On/Off (or Bypass) section for controlling the processors. Perhaps a right click on the processors in the main window ?
Thanks for great plugins and take care
Tony

Thank you for your suggestions Airon! From 0dB input the compressors will have an oo:1 characteristic (not clipping). This can be used as a feature by deliberately overloading it. You bypass all processing by turning off main section. There was no reason to have an output meter on the EQ's as they always outputs to a compressor with input meter or directly to the main out where you got a meter too. The well labelled knobs are actually valued by many people who are tired of the unscaled knobs used on most plugins.

Feed forward (no ringing effect).kylen wrote:Do the compressors use the feedback (like Blockfish) and/or feed-forward (like Vanilla) design I learned about recently?
This is it. When the noise gate is open and the signal goes below threshold it will smoothly fade out without the sudden drop you hear in many noise gates. Also, it got a soft knee and characteristic that offers a good noise damping rather than a on / off behaviour.wsaidah wrote:Torben how about a noise gate that doesen't break up the tails of your auido

One question; does the Gain in the main processor section of your sample picture say 5,600 dB?
Just kidding.
All your plugs are great. GAC is next on my list when I get me a microphone.

No, in Denmark at least (if not Europe) we us "," as decimal separation and "." as thousand separator (opposite of USA). It actually depends on your language setting if it says 5,600 or 5.600.

Sounds like "Classic Noise Gate" just got requested.
Actually, Torben, this is the first of the Gold Series I can see myself splashing out on. It has everything I end up throwing at a channel (um, hence the name
). The side-chaining version sounds interesting too... Any example uses?
