Question about SysEx in Sonar

it's the first time I use a sysex dump to choose patches from my G2 modular from in Sonar and I'm wondering if I'm doing this correctly
-I dumed a patch to a sysex bank in Sonar
-then opened the event list and added the sysex bank event
-I put the midi event to the beginning of my track and start the track a few bars after that
is that the correct way of handling this?

the thing is, what I'm doing works but it feel somewhat awkward and there's a bit of a lag after reading the sysex event
I thought the sonar users here would be able to answer quickly but I'll have to take it to the sonar forum

I see you got some help at the Sonar forum.
Did it solve the problem?
