I've started designing a couple of plugin FX,
One Delay
One Reverb

They aren't to compete with whats out there.
I've designed these as I feel there is nothing else like them out there, and I as a musician would love to use these tools in my tracks.

So what would you like to see in a wacky (convolution based) reverb?

Any suggestions welcome.

As far convolution-based reverb: honestly, one that I could use in either SONAR or Live that doesn't either have long latency issues (even with the delay-conpensation enabled) and/or doesn't go snap-crackle-pop grinding sounds unless I crank the buffer size up to a painfully-high level (so I wind up with wonderful-sounding convo reverb and effects, but forget about real-time usage).

Sadly I've had these issues with some of the more popular convolution units out there (SIR, Convo-Boy)....they basically sound lovely, but I keep winding up not being able to use them, much as I'd love to.

I always wondered about the concept of a 'lo-fi' reverb unit.
also a full-on 3-band EQ with Q/resonance.

Wow, Thanks for the response.

Yes, one of the most important things will be low latency as I intend it to be used like an instrument.

It has a XY Pad that can modulate anything. And yes it has a lot of filters in it.

An EQ is a good idea, hadn't really thought about that.

To be honest it probably won't be available for at least 2 years!

(I'm no programmer, so it will most likely be a collaboritive project. And yes I do intend to sell it (probably around $149, and make it available for Mac & PC)

convolution based reverb that can load two impulses one for the early Reflection and the other for the tail with separate controlls

How about this, it calculates just a snippet of the start of the sound ( Env Follow/Audio to midi like amp conversion ) and granulize the rest of the reverb, with a lot of control over the granulizing, there by at the same time getting a low cpu hit, and making weird reverbs possible.

drinelli, I'm not sure what you mean.

Are you saying use a straight IR at the start of the reverb and then the rest is just a small section of the IR repeated with a volume fade out on it>

no I'm saying use 2 separate ir like a small room for the early Reflection and a plate for the tail. also separate predelay,attack,envelope and eq controlls for the early Reflection and tail.
