Not true, mate.
WHAT do you think it is that makes professional CD releases sound 100 times better than the stuff you make?
That would be professional engineers who can make anything work...even bad performances.

Not professional engineers, people with good ears and the patience to get inside the technology they have access to. Some "professional engineers" turn out crap even though they have more money invested in their studios than I have in my house.

ambientverb and glassverb are my favs.

i played with many reverbs - hard and software
reverbs are mosly used to add space
you could add space with a very bad reverb
or kill space with a pro reverb.

I hear Antiverb is the best out there, but ive never heard/tried it.

My favorites are SIR and the EMT Plate 140.

I want the Princeton verb...but that freaking PACE shit scares me. And any developer who knows how people feel about PACE and still uses it is questionable.

roomverb (buzzroom)

Smartelectronix Ambience for me.

Don't do it my way.

General use:
Spacemaster [Reaktor]
Ultimate Reverb [Reaktor]

for unconventional stuff:
Laserbrew [Reaktor]
SIR
the built-in convolution in Adobe Audition.

Plus my aging Midiverb 4 and ancient SPX-90II. Used to have an AKG spring reverb but that's been gone for ages.

Of course it's Vss3. I don't know wether to laugh or cry at the suggestions that some cheap software reverb should quailfy in the tiniest bit.

If you guys don't know how much better Vss3 is, you havent checked it out, and in that case you shouldn't posting in this topic AT ALL.

You CANT use the cheap software reverbs as your main reverb if you're making any sort of serious recordings.

WHAT do you think it is that makes professional CD releases sound 100 times better than the stuff you make? That it's made in a real studio? Yeah, correct. And real studios use either Vss3 (M3000) or PCM91 or MPX1 or anything similar. They do NOT use the crap you guys downloaded for 30$!!

Keep using the cheap stuff if you're not making anything that anyone is gonna wanna hear anyway, but the real reverbs ARE ALL THAT MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!

Reverb is 'calculated' by loads of complicated formulas. They spend loads of money and time on researching these. I read somewhere that hardware-manufactorers are not eager to put their hardfound reverb-calculating formulas in VST-form cause they are afraid their formulas will be copied by others.
