Do You Really Need any More than Kjaerhus Classic Series

whats up everybody, this isn't a dig at any of your personal choices, it's for me to hopefully learn and grow from, I'm an excellent songwriter but the other half of the equation is something that I'm struggling with. I know that all of you are familiar with the classic series, what is it that would make one need more for ones own music, of course I mean in the traditional sense I'm not talking about the plethora of processing choices we have at our disposal for extreme processing.

Sure, I think I could get by with just the Kjaerhus Classic series. They're grrrrrreat!

i think that depends heavily on what you want to do, style-wise and so forth.
i work primarily in rock, and while i find the classic series to be extremely useful as a free tool, they never 'break' the sound in an appreciable way for me - i don't always really WANT something transparent when i'm working on a sound. i loves me some ikmultimedia t-racks as a vocal and drum treatment.
the classic series is also lacking in any form of 'excitement', just that presence and mild distortion i like to have on a track. i've been very impressed with what i've heard out of the psp vintagewarmer, though i don't own it.
ultimately it comes down to character.
lastly, i've found the classic series to be near useless when mastering in light of other software (and hardware) options i have heard.

There's no distortion effect yet, although one is planned for some future date. Also no stereo imaging/delay, but I guess you could make do with the Delay on that. No gates, either noise or rhythmic/sequenced. And a 7-band graphic EQ is a fairly limited option.
The Classic series are all good, but are limited in function. Compare the Classic series to their Golden series equivalents. Worlds apart.
If you have little interest in using a lot of effects in a lot of different ways, you could get an awful lot of mileage out of the Classic series.
