I don't know about you guys, but 95% of the time I setup a CD to fall asleep to. Got any good recommendations? So far these are in pretty heavy rotation:

LSG - Into Deep
Bjork - Vespertine
Philip Glass & Ravi Shankar - Passages
Philip Glass - Naqoyqatsi soundtrack
Sigur Ros - ()
Bowery Electric - Lushlife (some tracks tend to wake me up though)
Aphex Twin - all the SAW
Autechre - Amber, sometimes Incanabula
Radiohead - mix of some OK Computer and Kid A songs
My own ambient creations :)
Cafe del Mar vol. 7
Stryke - Staying on a Journey Inwards
Alpha - Come From Heaven
Alpha - Stargazing

It's funny, I always refer to going to sleep as "passing out" now.

Doh, forgot about Massive Attack. 100th window is beautiful.

What Pink Floyd albums are you talking about Vurt? Meddle and Obscured by Clouds are pretty key for sleepy times. PULSE is great too, actually I suppose it's all good to sleep to.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Robert Rich /Steve Roach - Soma
It was weeks before I consciously heard the later tracks on this album as I kept falling asleep after the first half.

This is a bit weird - I have a sleeping disorder so I rarely fall asleep listening to anything (unless I just drop onto my mixer and wake up in a lot of drool) but for some reason I have successfully fallen asleep at least 5 times over the past two weeks to this album:

Arcadia - So red the rose (My fave Duran Duran spin-off).
My Soundcloud Too many pieces of music finish far too long after the end. - Stravinsky

I can't sleep when music is running.... I'm listening to hard......

I've got into the habit of having a compilation of albums on my mp3-cdplayer just for bedtime.

currently it consists of:

alien mutation vs indigo egg - microcosmacrocosm (v. hypnotic psychedelic stuff)
alter ego - decoding the hacker myth (not all tracks)
everest - off and gone
irresistible force - global chillage
MLO - IO
spatialize - dryad's bubble

other favourites are monolake, boards of Canada, "arbor bona arbor mala" by the Shamen and lots of others which I can't remember now

I learnt self-hypnosis techniques years ago to combat panic attacks and now I can put myself in that suggestible alpha state within minutes of lying in bed - and it feels fantastic! I didn't know it was possible to feel so relaxed. Now I think it's a wasted opportunity if I just lay there waiting to drift off

this is a really interesting thread because I'm always on the look out for new woozy music just for that purpose 8)

Great stuff to listen to with headphones. You would be lucky to find a copy of the box set since it is out of print now. :(
