I will probably get this eventually. Anyone here use it? Anyone compare it to Horizon's "Overdrive"?

Hi!

I have no idea about the VSL lib; haven't used it. I got an early copy of Project6 and can say it's terrific though. It has a more up to date sound than anything I've encountered in terms of guitar tone and playing style for rhythm work. Really chunky muted chugs, wakka-wakka stuff, with low strings drop tuned so you can play chords as low as A. And it's designed to work in stereo. Head over to Bela D's site and listen to the demos!

I`ve got it too and I second Fred`s opinion about the library having the
"up to date" sound. The sound is very thick . Especially the lower notes .
And as Fred said , you can double the guitar . So you can get that
"wall of guitars" sound :D

Also I listen to the demo for Over Drive , and I think both have its own
character . So at the end its a matter of taste and what your going for .

My opinion is , the demos sound great , the price is reasonable(maybe too reasonbale lol) , so what are you waiting for ? :D

Hey, Fred. I hang out at NS too. But I figured I would be a little subversive and see if I can get some "harsher" comments here in fiesty k-v-r'ville. :)

The difference in the commuunities and the types of software discussed is interesting, huh?

I think you are right Overdrive's sound might be too distinctive (very Steve Vai), whereas Project 6 is more neutral. I suspect there are other differences too. I am just trying to sort them out. But, I feel a little uncomfortable asking for this type of comparison at NS.

And it doesn't hurt Bela Media to get a little discussion about the library here at k-v-r. I think the library deserves greater exposure (although Overdrive is somewhat "under the radar" here at k-v-r too).
