Never mind, I found them! That's some great stuff.
You have a good voice and a great sense of humor. Nice production too. I like your phaser effect on the keyboards in the Istanbul track. Great playing too.

Thank you kindly. BTW - how many reviews does one need to start charting? I've heard that I've been played there many times, but am nowhere on the charts?
The minimum amount of reviews I see for charting members is 4? So I guess I should bug all these hitters to atleast say something to 'move me on up' to the east side?

Hey Mixposure,
Steven introduced me to this site. Gotta say, I don't create music. I can appreciate the music of all different types of genres and write reviews. My reviews are usualy several paragraphs. Most reviews I've seen are positive and constructive. Some however are pure tripe. One or two sentences. It's as if some are trying to fill a quota without real regard for the hard work all the artists put into their music. I know, its quality not quantity, but at least some of the reviewers could forget about the contests and write reviews because they want to, not because they are vying for the SONY give away. It's a great site that tries to give every artist feedback, but please, stop with the "write 30 reviews and you might qualify for a prize" stuff. That style of marketing just lowers the integrity of the sense that reviewers are writing for appreciation of other artists. If you want to encourage people to write reviews, the incentive should be personal pride that you have something positive to offer and not, "oh, I've written 30 reviews for the month of March, damn I hope I win the prize". If you want to give something away, give it to the music artists, not the b-llsh-t artists. Can't tell you how many reviews I've seen that are like "Hey, good song man, I really like it" What is that ???? A review or a way to get your 30 reviews in. Take my reviews for instance, insight, constructive critisism and suggestions on how to expand the artists horizons. Here's an example of a review I would do for MIXPOSURE itself.
A wonderful opportunity for all artists to expand their listening audience and get feedback at the same time. There are contests and incentives to continue to produce music and reviews. If you have a penchant for discovering new talent, or just to give yourself an opportunity to hear what is going on in yours or other genre's then MIXPOSURE is not only for you, but for everyone that can appreciate creativity and the hard work that goes with it. Mixposure just doesn't offer prizes and incentives, it also requires reviewers to be honest and in depth about their observations. Sometimes however, a few weasles get into the barnyard and disturb the chickens by their inability to really dig beneath the surface. But like all things in life, don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. Come to MIXPOSURE and get the sense of community that all musicians, artists and aprreciators can expect from a space not dedicated to appeasing a sponser, but from a place that is in desperate need of impressing upon people to use intelligence in their discerning tastes of music that is not only bountiful, but also of excellent quality. M is for music, I is for integrity, X is for excellent, P is for promotion, O is for one for all, S is for sense of community, U is for understanding, R is for reviews with integrity, E is for equality. Put it all together and you get MIXPOSURE, a mix of community and integrity.
Conduct yourselves accordingly, best regards,
ZEST

Well. Those reviews you are talking about will always happen.
Some write them only to get you to drop them a review. Others give them out with low scores to keep you from moving up the charts.
It is a no win battle really, but I think the management over at Mixposure has done a good job so far. BTW you don`t need to be a musician and have music posted to register and participate in the reviews and stuff
There are already a few people like that who just love listening to new songs and bands.

Yes I agree, they are doing a good job. Perhaps they should weed out these reviewers that give bad reviews with negative response prizes as well. Such as , so and so constantly gives bad reviews, so he or she wins the right to have their reviews posted in a new forum called Garbage Heap. Maybe that will prevent ultimate negative responses once others see that there motives are alterior. I don't think the edict of do unto others then split will last too long if MIXPOSURE creates such a forum. Thanks for your input Germ. have a great day !!!

Just to go 'on the record' (pardon the pun...) I did not spike Mr. Zest's corn flakes for this observation he's making. Though I partially agree with his sentiments, I also think it's good to have incentives as well. And like Germ says, it happens all the time. The majority of us here will diss Britney Spears or Ashlee Simpson with the most acidic and hurtful comments we can muster... Yet Britney and Ashlee are always going to sell more CD's than most of us combined.
So just to toss my 2 cents into the fire... I don't mind a 'good' BAD review or two or three. It's all things I can learn from. But something short and shallow is just a waste of time and space for both concerned parties that's gratified possibly with a prize? I don't think that's right, but in a world where so much is wrong - what can anyone do?
That's the last time I leave my booze at Zests house for the morning.

Greetings!
Zest, where do I begin?
First of all, for the members that are taking their time and writing good reviews, we want to reward them. It is nearly impossible to monitor 250 reviews a day for quality control. We added a "Notify us about this review" link to help curtail some of the bogus ones and we allow members the option to not let a song be reviewed. We also have launched MIXBUX which gives back to the people that are contributing to the site. The bottom line is, there are over 25k reviews on the site and you can bet a good chunk of those are quality. Will we get the occasional "playa"? Yup, but we're doing what we can.
As for Sony, business is business. We would make the same request for our members to click on the banners no matter who is in the slot. We have to provide results to keep the site alive. In fact, in two days you won't see Sony anything on the site. That doesn't mean that we don't appreciate them sponsoring our contest, we're grateful.
Thanks alot for the feedback, you have some great ideas there. (Especially the garbage heap)
Keep in mind, we just launched on Jan 1st so we are constantly redefining ourselves.

Mixposure,
Thank you for your response. By the way, has Flohism sent you an alert about a review that I did for one of their songs ? They branded me as hateful on your website. Is he allowed to accuse me of being hateful in an open forum without first checking with you to see if you / management agree with their allegations regarding this particular review ??? Just wondering,
ZEST

Management is not here often enough and with time enough for that. That is why I am around here whenever I can as I am a part of the site tooVitaminD wrote:sooo.. do you contribute any here at kvr or just plug your webby?![]()
I try to partake as much as possible, but most posts here end up as a flame war over which instrument is better and how much of an idiot you are to think otherwise.
