I've got a friend who's just bought an akai s and wants to midi sequence it from his mac. He'd love to step sequence it also, he says piano roll in cubase is a bore. All my suggestions aren't apparently available on mac os so i decided to ask here cause you'll know better i'm sure.

Also he's got reason but he says it's impossible to make redrum output midi to the akai.

Has he already tried Numerology ( http://www.five12.com )?
Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh... until they sedate me.

I dunno if it has step sequencing, but Metro looks pretty good... I've never used it (pc guy), but my understanding is it's very similar to Cakewalk Sonar...

Numerology isn't hard to understand. You can do amazing stuff with it, and it's very reasonably priced. I wish it were available for Windows.
