This is a link to the free SampleTank 2 on this page, http://www.sampletank.com/STFreeDwn.html.
You need to download the program and documentation for Win2000/WinXP and the free sounds seperately, also check out the Tips & Tricks page for extra free sounds.

This is a link to the free Sonic Synth 2 on this page, http://www.ikmultimedia.com/Main.html?keyboardss2, you will find 3 download links,

Download Sonik Synth™ 2 FREE for Windows ~ 9Mb
Download Sonik Synth™ 2 FREE for MacOSX ~ 10Mb
Download Sonik Synth™ 2 FREE Sounds ~ 11Mb

The first download contains the program, combi-presets and documentation for Win2000/WinXP. (not Win9x)

The second download contains the program, combi-presets and documentation for Mac.

I personally like these "samplers" because of the integrated effects which are programmable per part, plus the easy Zone modification capabilities...

SusON/SusOFF - trigger envelopes with a sustain pedal

Great stuff! CC LFO is a great idea, modulating any parameter is so easy now.
THANKS! :D

NicFit wrote:Piranha asked me if I could add a "Rest" value to my Velocity 2 CC plugin, like his has. Well due to the internal structure of my plugin I couldn't add it. He liked the controls on my plugin better than the standard SE controls he had used on his, but he is too busy coding another VST project and learning a new programming language to work on his old SE projects... So I offered to re-skin and fix some automation bugs in his plugin.

Make sure you turn the "Rest" value off before you change the CC# otherwise it will output the "Rest" value for each CC# you pass...in other words if the CC# is 74 and you change it to 14 Every parameter mapped to CC#'s 14-74 will be set to the "Rest" value. Same thing if you switch the output channel...just remember to be carefull with the Rest value. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, then don't bother downloading...this plugin is not for you.

nF
nF,

Thanks for adding this to the list!

I truly appreciate your time & effort in making this plugin much more enjoyable to use!:D

Actually the bumping of this thread allowed me to notice several NicFit plug-ins which I'm intending to road test when I get the chance.

I'm very interested in seeing how far VST midi plugins can take me.

I'm still bummed by no MFX of course...mmmmmm rythm & chords.....but that's another story.

Just made a few plugins with Sedit to help control some of my outboard midi hardware.

Dont think they will be to useful to many people but gives you a good idea what can be acheived with Sedit.

These are easy enought to make so anyone could have a go for there own hardware.
Akai S2000 http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/205355/AkaiCC.dll
Yamaha Tq5 http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/205355/tq5.dll
Zoom 1204 http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/205355/1204.dll
At the moment the last two are just used for patch changing.Need to add the midi cc control to them.

I don't want to see this become a "useful plug-in" thread, because we all have our favourites. Modular resources should be plug-ins that are specifically useful to modular hosts! :D

I recently discovered that reaktor vst (the surround fx version) can accept three stereo inputs (and sends out 3 stereo outs).. So it's possible to build reaktor things that take advantage of eXTs(or tracktion's) flexible routing (although i didn't come across any that already do).. for exotic sidechain type devices etc.

Yep, been doing that for awhile now. Reaktor's also a damn good midi plug for me here for driving regular VSTi..

EDIT

Post

Does anyone know of a midi plug that will filter channel data; What I mean is is there a plug I can place inline that will take a modulation source transmitting globally & force it to a specified channel? I'm trying to work around a bug, and the regular ways of doing it aren't working..

Post

Ok, well how about that webpage one of the KvR members has with the big-ass list of midi plugins?
