This may be a silly question, but here goes anyway.
I em currently using Krystal Audio Engine, for recording Guitar tracks, and other various music. My dilemma is, i want to load Fruity loops into it to use Fl as my effect for Guitar, but it wont let me do this. So i loaded it through Chainer(Vsti host) as Standalone, it loaded...But when i load it through Chainer, through Krystal it wont work...Are all Sequencers set up this way(cant load vsti's)??
If not, are there any out there, that are Free?

Use energyXT VST effect version and load Fruity VSTi in it.
No. Most sequencers support VSTi. There aren't really free ones, though, only very inexpensive ones.

PQN Audio VstSeq is free.
It was designed to work with Tuaregs, so it renders down to audio, but a very useful utility. But couldn't you do everything you need with FL?

The Krystal Audio Engine is much easier to use, when recording tracks. Fruity loops, is nice for mixing and such, but when trying to do ACTUAL recording(live) or wavs, it is a pain. For example, cutting and pasting isnt that easy, because u cant see where ur wav(that u just cut) is actually going. With Krystal i can cut, then jus slide it down to next waver line, and its visibly accesible.
Btw, i need a Sequencer/Multitrack, not just a Sequencer. Rather something like Krystal, that can record also.......but im trying the energyXTE thing right now, and its got me baffled.

Hmmm........ok im downloading the program now, good lord its taking forver. I noticed this is a standalone program, does it work as a vst plugin also? In other words can i load this into Krystal, and then use Frutiy Loops within Krystal(using this to use Fl)? I have this feeling, that communication is being distorted, from what i really wanted to know

EnergyXT runs as both standalone and VST (both effect and instrument). You could load energyXT as an effect in Krystal, then load FL in eXT. Depending on what transport info Krystal sends, transport and tempo sync might be out of whack. That seems like an awful lot of layers to go through before you get any sound though.
Does FL only load as VSTi, meaning there isn't an effect version too?
