I just bought and registered Amplitube 1. retail box version, but I didn't get any confirmation of getting SampleTank 2L for free. Has anyone else done this? Is it automatically being sent?
Squids?

Thanks! Riley :?:

According to this page: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/Main.html?Promo-0502

Once you register one, you will then be lead to the other. At least that's what it looks like.

"To take advantage of this awesome promotion, simply buy and register AmpliTube® between February 20th and April 30th 2005, and you will receive SampleTank® 2 L by mail (allow 2-4 weeks for delivery). Or buy and register SampleTank® 2 L or XL and download the full version ofAmpliTube® 1.0 from the IK web site automatically through your user area!"

It goes by the shipping address in your registration. Congrats on a smart buy.

Let me explain this another way for anyone else. If you don't have SampleTank 2 or AmpliTube then THIS IS THE DEAL! This is the time to get it. These are five great reasons to do it (just to know):

1. The price of AmpliTube went down by 25% MSRP

2. The buy AmpliTube get SampleTank 2L for free (or visa versa) promotion. What guitarist doesn't want a sound module to be a backing band for their writing and playing?

3. AmpliTube 1 qualifies for a discounted upgrade to AmpliTube 2 when it comes out. But the best part is that it'll be for not much more than the difference in price! (ie. under $200). So, if you were thinking about getting AT2 (which is $399.) then get THIS deal and the upgrade instead and for something like $399-499. you can get AT1, ST2L AND AT2 for practically the same price as JUST AT2.

4. Having AmpliTube 1 is still good to have even if you will get AmpliTube 2. You wanna know why? It's VERY different. Even though AT2 is better and much improved, AT1 still has a certain sound and a ton of presets that probably won't work with AT2 because it is a whole different beast (some people like it JUST for the presets because they get you signature guitar sounds quick). So, to have both is the ultimate but also this is the LAST time you can get AT1 because it will go away when AT2 hits. SO....in case you like a particular sound in AT1 then you might as well have it especially if in this equation it is really FREE!

How's that for good buying advice? \

Great advise Squids, but it makes me even sadder that I didn't wait one more month to buy ST XL.

This deal goes through the end of April but I would snag it soon just in case stock runs out or something. It's been going REALLY well. Almost too good. But, if you do the math then you can see that getting 3 for the price of one (with AT2 upgrade) is one of the best deals IK has ever had.

Snag! Be sure and get it at http://www.esoundz.com I paid $50.00 too much at IK. :(
But SampleTank 2L is on the way.....Free!!!

Good! I hope you enjoy it.

By the way, that's a good way to do the deal! I should mention it as a tip (if I haven't already). Even though you can buy AT and get ST2L free you are better off buying ST2 L or XL and getting AT for free because it is given to you as a download. If you do it the other way around the other product has to be sent to you (too big for download) and that takes more time because it gets sent to you after you register.

So, go to www.esoundz.com and simply buy SampleTank 2L or XL (or even the upgrades qualify for this in case you didn't know and there's a new ST2L upgrade that's cheaper also- all there on esoundz and that one is hard to find anywhere else because not everyone stocks the upgrades!!!- upgrades from ST2 LE or SE if you have any Expansion Tank, eROMS, Sonik Capsules or a ProTools system that has the SE version which also qualifies). Then AmpliTube 1 shows up in your SampleTank user's area as an immmediate download. Not bad!

Yup, Ordered SampleTank from esoundz.com last night 8)

I've been so into the Sonik Capsules I can't get any work done. I spend so much time on each instrument I've just scratched the surface!

ST 2 and Amplitube added to the Capsules I already have will make a great system. I'll be ordering the SS2 Crossgrade within a few days. I just have to wait for a check to clear!

It's great news about Amplitube showing up immediately.

:D Now that's instant gratification :D

As a guitar player I have been tempted by this offer. I have tried the Amplitube demo several times and now I am not sure I like most of the sounds I hear. This is since I upgraded to proper studio monitors (Event SP8s) where I find there is an unaturalness to may of the presets - either over electric or acoustic guitar tones. I want to like Amplitube, but there is still something unreal about most of the cleaner settings. The distorted ones maybe OK but I am not after distorted sounds much. I like clean rich tones but I am not finding them here. Maybe A2 will be better but I am not convinced enough to break my budget right now.

Sorry to be a downer and maybe I am missing something but I have tried higher sample rates to see if that was the problem but it still sounds wrong. Maybe Amplitube 2 will sound more real.
