Hi, Forum. I have Sampletank 2L & I want to get the crossgrade for the Sonic Synth 2. Do I have to have Sampletank 2 XL to get the special reduced price or am I fine with what I have?

Squids has said that the SS2 crossgrade price would be available from ST L. All ST 2 L and XL users get the 2.1 engine upgrade for free.

I've been working with ST2 since it came out and I use it on pretty much everything that I need realistic instruments on. In purchasing SS2 I can expand my sounds to more synths & textures.

Welcome Saukar30! When you get SS2 be sure to explore the SS2 presets - these really show off the power of the programming that went into the SS2 soundset

How are the drums on SS2? I only have ST2L, and the acoustic drums are good, but I'm not too much of a fan of the electronic kits. I'm guessing that SS2 has a larger variety of electronic drums.

I just counted the kits listed in the Electronic Kits section, and there are 38 kits, plus a bunch of child settings. There is also a large selection of Electric Percussion samples and child settings for those, too. I would say the sound quality in SS2 is on a level with the BEST sounds on ST2.
You get over 5,000 sounds with SS2. It takes a while to just go through them all.
Also keep in mind that you can run SS2's sounds in your ST engine. This is the best way to do it, if you have ST. That way, you can use any ST compatable sound you have in combination with each other. This makes this a tremedously powerful system.
