This drummer has a hard time finding work. A friend tells him "You should move to Turkey. My friend Ahmed always needs drummers." So the guy packs up his toms and move to Turkey. He goes to the coffee bar that his friend has explained him and asks for Ahmed. Ahmed is delighted to find a drummer "I have a gig for you tonight. Just how up at this address; we start at 8pm". But what are we playing, asks our drummer friend. "Hey, no time, I gotta run; just show up there." The drummer goes there and sets up, but Ahmed is nowhere to be seen. Finally, a couple seconds before 8 Ahmed jumps on stage and wants to count down. "Hey man, what are we playing?" shouts the drummer. "Oh come on, just fake it" replies Ahmed. "Just give me a strong backbeat on 9 and 13."

The world believes Sputnik re entered the atmosphere and burned up in 1958. This is not true. Sputnik recieved an upgrade from some passing aliens and he is still up there. And the little guy is jammin. He downloaded eXT (license donated by Jorgen) and some free VST's he found at KvR, and if you keep you ham radio set at 20.07 MHz when he passes over your house you might hear one of his tunes.
Sputnik
Since my entry this month is a little more mainstream,
for all of my friends who said they look forward to hearing my "unusual" contest entries each month I made a song for you that I posted in the cafe with the title "Whore".
Yes it's just as bizarre as you would expect from me.
Thanks for listening,
G.

Little more raw than normal for me. One vocal take and no pitch fixes this time.
Hopefully it will capture the intimacy of the song a little better this way.
Just a simple little song. Sometimes unexpected company is the best.
I Didn't Think I'd See You Here Today
All sounds courtesy Reason and Sampletank2. And my pie-hole.

How 'bout some Lemon Merengue for that Pie-hole there Plunge?
I've been wanting to do a Latin style tune for awhile, so here it is. A little Merengue beat to start it off and evolving into a late '70's style Latin/Jazz/Fusion romp.
This was tough to mix right, and I also spent a long time trying to figure out an ending until the whole section appeared in my head while I was in the shower. I am really happy I was able to get it pretty much as I heard it onto hard disk!!
So please enjoy some Lemon Merengue
Made with My Les Paul Goldtop, Marshall JCM 800, Battery, Sonic Synth, B4, Kontakt, Moog Modular V, With lots of UAD-1 plugs along with my trusty PSP-84.
Cheers!!

Here's the Mephit's entry:
It's Okay
I would describe this as a sad, but happy love song. I definitely had my fiance' in mind as I wrote it. It describes the fear and pain I feel at times and how she can make it go away.
Lyrics:
(Chorus)
Where the happiness in a world that won't let me rest?
Struggling to make sure I always show my best.
And then you, hold me close and say it's okay.
(Verse)
Everyday, things from the past come and
hold their sway, making me feel like
I don't deserve what I've found.
So much fear, always fighting and
What's the point, all the pain in the
Past I don't want to re live
(Repeat Chorus)
----------------------------------------------
This song would have qualified for the unheard voices them as well. I've done lyrics before, but they have always come after the music. This time, I started with a lyrical idea and created music around it.
Technical info:
Recording done using Tracktion
Guitar - Seagull SA6
Drums - Reason Drum Kit
Piano, Rhodes and Bass - Reason again (Piano from R3)
VST effects used:
Kjaerhus Classic Series EQ, Chorus and Compressor
Makie Final Mix (Tracktion version)

I Know
The vocalist is my nephew. He calls himself Mischif.
The story he came up with is genius. In the first verse, he's the father of a robbery/murder victim, speaking to a photo of the suspect. In the second verse, he's the murder suspect, on his fifth day in jail for the murder. And in the third verse he's an inmate who's been hired to kill the suspect by the father. That boy is Genius...
Enjoy! Feedback welcome. There's a thread below for your comments.
- Style: Hip Hop.
