Thinking of reformatting, but

...I would like to know first how one goes about reregistering programs - I've reformatted with FL and I just need to run a registry file to get it working again, but this is the first time I've wanted to reformat with Reaktor on the drive, and needless to say I don't want complications with its registration. I'm sure many of you have done this: please advise

Hello Daven,
I will be doing the same in the next weeks. Regarding the NI authorisation procedure I assume (but not totally sure) that the code is based on your hardware. Therefore if you have your code(s) somewhere and copy and paste them during the authorisation process it should be OK.
See below a copy of the "authorisation FAQ" on the NI site.
What kind of information makes up the System ID?
The System ID is generated using basic components of the computer: the CPU-family (like P3, P4, XP), operating system (revisions and updates are not considered), startup hard disk and date of installation. This System ID is a completely unique number that serves only to identify your computer and does not include any personal data or other information.
Do I need a new Authorization Key if I change my computer’s components?
The System ID is based on fundamental components of the computer that are very seldom changed. Therefore you will NOT need a new authorization if you change your audio card, MIDI interface, model, network card or external devices. If you however change your CPU (i.e. from P3 to P4), operating system (i.e. from Win 98 to Win XP - note that updates of your OS will not change your System ID), or your startup harddisk components a new authorization will be necessary. Each product can be authorized for two different hardware profiles (e.g. desktop and laptop). If you need a third authorization you must first deactivate one of your two existing hardware profiles. How to do this is explained in our new deactivation help...
I am going to send them an e-mail to ask the question more precisely.
Regards,
PA

Hello Daven,
Here is the reply I got from NI support :
"The authorization system allows an installation on two different computers. Therefore please execute the authorization on both computers, since the System ID will differ.
Perhaps you have already registered two times, so you first have to disable one of your authorizations.
You can do this online in your account, using \'manage registration/authorization\' at
http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?register_us
Please use always the same username and password for your authorization since all authorizations belong to one registration account. After completing the authorizations, you get a different authorization key for each installation.
Cheers

I just did a reformat a few weeks ago. NI's registration was no problem; FL's was no problem either, but it was a problem finding all the damn serial #'s for all my vst's.(I thought I would never find FL's).
