Take a look at this peek into the future for digital sampling, found and pasted from www.emulatorarchive.com (celebrating the marvelous E-mu line of samplers). It's the last two lines that button it all up for me:--------------------

Perhaps mLan and even Ethernet for connecting straight into the Internet. Or maybe hardware samplers will now disappear, as the PC and an internal DSP card is now powerful enough to displace all that custom hardware !! We doubt it.....<<<
