Hmmm. Maybe this explains the problems I had with trying out both of the demos in Tracktion. From the esoundz site.....
Amplitube
Macintosh® VST
Power Macintosh® G3 or G4 with MacOS 8.6 or later system software (the VST version is not Mac OS X compatible), 64 MB RAM. Screen settings: 800x600, thousands of colors, 20 MB of free hard disk space. Suggested: Power Macintosh® G4 with 256 MB RAM and 1024x768 screen. An ASIO card is recommended for low latency real time play. Optimized for G4.
T-Racks
Macintosh® VST
Power Macintosh® G3 or G4 with MacOS 8.6 or later system software (the VST version is not Mac OS X compatible), 64 MB RAM. Screen settings: 800x600, thousands of colors, 20 MB of free hard disk space. Suggested: Power Macintosh® G4 with 256 MB RAM and 1024x768 screen. Are there plans to include support for OSX VST, or just AU - or is this just dated info?
Is suppose the more important question is, for me, will Amplitude 2 be OSX VST compatable?

Apparently Amplitube is available as OSX VST, and T-RackS is available as OSX VST as well.
So, erm, this is weird.

Well, my guess, from the demos, that it's about half way in between there, meaning, while I was able to load up the demos as FX, whatnot, and use the presets, but I was unable to turn the pots without them going all wild on me (slamming down to zero, simply uncontrolable, like the GUI was broken). I heard from other users on OSXAUDIO that had the same issue before, and I brought up the topic in a another thread here a while back, so there is some awareness already to this issue. I'm just curious as to when this information on the esoundz site is from, as it might explain alot of things relating to the way Amplitube/T-RackS behaved. Was really impressed with the sound of both, and especially impressed with SS2/ST2, both of which on my gear purchase list....just wanted to find out what this OSX VST incompatability relates to, as it would explain my GUI issues, or if this is just old info. Anyone know when this info is from? Squids?Jeez wrote:Apparently Amplitube is available as OSX VST, and T-RackS is available as OSX VST as well.
