Same here, it's absolutely essential if you like electric pianos, Mr Ray is flawless for the Rhodes emulation, and without having to use samples. Totally amazing! I've only got 1 wish left for Mr Ray - an authentic wurlitzer emulation. I'd be in heaven!

I'm keeping my free copy!!!ZioKiller wrote:Hi All,
I just did another experiment trying to realize what I may call "the perfect" model of a Rhodes Piano.
Still it's a SynthEdit creation, based on the MrRay vsti, but this time I concentrated on all the elements that make the real instrument sound "real".. that is "not perfect".. since it is an electro-acoustic instrument and the younger one you can find still alive isn't less than 25-30 years old (I'm speaking about the Mark I).
I focused on all the short sounds and noises which you can hear at the attack time of a note. My main inspiration was Learjeff's free soundfont (It's a 1975 Mark 1, not in a perfect state as he says.. so quite perfect for my purpose). Also I listened carefully to other samples and soundfont found over the internet, in order to have a closer look to what's goin on when you hit a key on a Mark I. FFT and sample Scope were very useful as well.
The result is this:

This file is not intented to be officially released (at least not now) and will be probably deleted in the near future.
Now I wish to ask all those people who own a real Rhodes and play it regularly wether they can have a try at this experiment and tell me what they think.
Sooner or later, I want to write down some details of what I learnt by this research on modeling a Rhodes piano.
Regards,
Guido.

Now seriously, this is your best creation ever. And yes, it does sound better than Lounge Lizard 1 & 2!
And you made this with Synthedit? Amazing!

I also have the EVP73, and it pales in comparison to Mr Ray73, and Mr Ray2.2. My request is for the Hohner D6 Clavinet! I did see you mentioned you thought that might be your next project....I hope so. I'll try to send in a donation soon. Mr ray is indeed the very best of emulations! Keep up the great work! Maybe someday someone will finally create a Yamaha VL physical modeling clone also!

I could still use the perfect Wurlitzer myself, but hey that's just me. Thanks again, Guido, you did a fantastic job.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Yes, to clarify, I meant that Acid 4.0 crashes when I attempt to change presets & settings for MrRay 2.2. It also happens with the previous versions of MrRay. MrRay 73 seems to work fine and it sounds stunning. There are 2 versions of MrRay: MrRay 2.2 (the "Senior" version) and MrRay SeventyThree. The former is a little buggy (read the documentation), the latter doesn't have any presets. You must be talking about the senior version... are you?
Sorry about that.. I still havent fixed it.
By the way, on a related note, I have the same problem with Organized Trio -- my Acid host crashes when I attempt to change presets/settings. I imagine there are others out there using Acid as their VST host.. at least I hope I'm not the only one with this problem.
Hope you can look into this issue in any future releases -- your plug-ins are amazing and I'd really like to use them in my tracks!
