Hey peeps,
Fixed all my problems with .net compatability etc...
My reverb effect is up online at.....

http://www.houseofjap.plus.com/Hazelden%20VST/
Its the .zip file called Reverb-O-Matic.

This is for a University project and I would appreciate if you guys could let me know what you think/feedback. I'm new to VST and audio processing so let me know if you can hear something wrong with it? From little feedback i have had already, I believe it to be quite good with the right settings and a bit of fiddling is needed to get the desired sound!

p.s read the text file for a heads up and also has my email addresses for you to send any feedback. If you have time I more or less beg for some feedback as I need it for my Uni report! :)

Regards,

EddieH

One thing I noticed in Samplitude was that it crashed if I had the biggest room size value.

very good to create small rooms! :-D

two problems:

- you can hardly read the writing on the gui - there's not enough contrast - but green is imo awful anyway :-o

- I think the 'roomsize' parameter is scaled wrongly - settings above ~15 are hardly usable...

Very good work all in all! :hail:

it crashes in EnergyXT too

Hey guys, yea sorry bout the crashing thing...

I think you used the .dll straight from the link which I left there by accident...

If you download the .zip file which contains the newest version you should have no trouble with crashing...fingers crossed :)

Regarding some comments on the gui, i agree with the text colour, it is pretty hard to see, so i'll change that to something a bit more suitable. sorry about the background, i really like it, call me odd :!: :D

Again, I really would appreciate some more comments, especially if you like it! Let me know as I'm using your opinions for part of my evaluation.

Cheers,

EddieH

no problems crashing here
there are some good sounds there.
it does a very small plate............ very well.

only problem I see is with the gui.
the white text disappears in the background.
I would stay with a more "readable" font also.
but,all in all....great job

Nope, it crashed for me when I yanked roomsize to the top.

Same thought here about the gui/text. Tried with FLS 5.02, some very usable sounds with a 'low' cpu hit. Thanks for this :D
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

Sorry Jens for the late reply.....

Yes, above 15% aren't particulalry useful for natural sounding reverb. I only made it to have such a large range so that user could create insane sounds as well as natural. 15% roomsize corresponds to the 1st comb delay time to be 15ms, the 6th to be 22.5ms i.e. the ratio between the 1st and last comb is 1:1.5.

The delay times for the rest of the comb filters is chosen to be in between these values.

So instead of roomsize being the sum of the delays of the combs which is normally done, I chose it to be the delay for the 1st comb, from which all others are chosen.

In conclusion, 15% really means approx. 110ms total. I just wanted to have such a large range so that one could create some stupid sounds essentially as well as natural sounds.

Regards,

EddieH.

p.s if anyone else has any feedback (good/bad), I would be really grateful for some more.

Same crash for me in Sonar 4.02 using Directixer 2.5 VST Adaptor.

Sounds nice though for small spaces. Thanks for the freebie.

Crashed in Wavelab 5 and Cubase SX 2 after I adjusted the roomsize. Good plug-in though, very easy on the CPU and sounded quite sweet with the roomsize around 11%. I'd be down with a more stable version for sure.

As for the interface, I think everyone agrees about the fonts. Your background pattern is a nice pattern, but consider this: when was the last time you saw a Lexicon unit with a funky pattern printed all over it? I think patterns are inherently distracting and cumbersome in interface design; musicians need high contrast and simplicity, or else it hurts their brains.

BuzMaxi's Roomverb is a good exampleof simplicity:
