Seriously, VSL Pro full is about $5000 I think (albeit a vast set of DVDs, not 3 CDs)?
VOTA is (was) a highly respected library in the soundtrack industry. That price is in Australian dollars though - East West have it on sale for $500.

Everything these people make is so freaking expensive.
But what gets me is the whole "Can't ever transfer your license" thing.
Yes, yes, I know all about the specialized market for such things, and how most people using their products are pros and so on.
But think about it: what other 500$ to 5000$ musical instruments are there that you are never allowed to sell?

So? The producer of the library, I believe, did a lot of film trailers. He wanted his own unique sound. So, he barred other people from using the library for that purpose. I think VoTA is overpriced and overrated anyway. Symphony of Voices offers more content, more varied content, better recordings, and is MUCH more flexible. Not to mention the word building is lame - hopefully QLSC will fix that.
