I already have the original DFH and I feel they are becoming the cliche of hard rock/metal recordings...Who else makes a quality sample set that I can use with my DR008?...I can use the fxpansion kits ( what are some good ones to download of there server) and I have the ns kit ( it's ok...not polished enough for me)..I am looking for more variety..like Stewart Copeland , Helmet, 311 style drum sounds.
Thanks
Thanks

you could try http://kingstondrums.bombsquad.org/
the samples are pretty much unprocessed so you need to know how to mix drums to get anything usable out of them.

I second Kingstons rough rider kit. I wish I made more organic sounding rock stuff and really utilize it more.
I find that no matter what I do with DFH it has the Meshuggah sound all over it. Despite the variety, as soon as i start using it , it just makes me want to thrash out some furious double kicks patterns in odd time sigs...

Geoff Khan's Live Kit 7 is very nice and lively.
Of course, there's quite a lot of rock and metal around using NSKit7(Free), too.

I was searching around for drum multisamples once and I found this: http://www.drums.sk/index.html
I've never heard of them from anywhere else. They make a cheesy drum sequencer (non-vst) but the samples sounded nice.

Anyone know the status of Lastlibs (Lastufka Libraries) drum kit? Last I heard a few months ago it was bought by someone (?) and planned for release as a Kontakt based kit this year. Their website seems to be in hibernation while another project is under way.
Also I heard that NS_kit 7 was going to be released as a Kontakt based kit as well. Don't know if that is still happening.

NSKit7(Free) has a Kontakt mapping, as far as I remember. NSKit7(Full) is a set of samples Douglas is looking to release on DVD. From my perspective, I just want the samples. Douglas was talking about making it a Kontakt map. Latest thought is Halion 3. Maybe.davidlinn wrote:Also I heard that NS_kit 7 was going to be released as a Kontakt based kit as well. I just saw that toontrack has a new disc of vintage and classic drumsets...they sound jaw dropping on the demos...I think I'll save up for these.
