It's an early House track (~1990-93 I think) where there was a guy saying something like this :
"Why is it that every time I am walking down the street some asshole wants to stop me blah blah blah, f**k that"

Anyone remembers the song?

Post

I was going to research it but f**k that.... :p

It seems vaguely familiar to me as well, but I havent a clue as to who did it..

Post

Thanx S_A_P. I know that searching the web using terms as "f**k that" (or "f**k dat" maybe) wouldn't help much ...
The song has a lot of ... erm verses. The guy is complaining for a lot of things when he goes to the bank they look at him like he's the one who rubbed them last week or when he goes to a bar only the ugly chicks are flirting him, oh and now I rememberd the last verse talks about some radio DJ who plays the same f**king song 30 times a day for three months. f**k that for sure

Yeah! The clean version was called Funk Dat! It was by Sagat. I always remember that name because it was also the name of a Street Figher video game character. I was just thinking a few days ago that someone should bring that track back with a 200x remix or something.... but umm... f**k DAT.

Here is some useless info:

Here is some history on it a bit down in the interview:

I used to like its main synth sound with the slow attack and fast release. Was it a hit in the UK back then?

... and thanks for the links bioroid and the intentions Cypher

erm, a club hit I'd say (I had it on 12" at some stage), but I don't recall it being much of a radio hit.

Same here ... in a few clubs

Seriously, "funk dat" is cooler than "f**k dat" :)
Anyway, no need to diss DAT, it basicly never really kicked off anyway....
