I need some help with something. I just got my old DX100 from my parents place (which I am really happy about, btw ) Aside from using some of my old fave sounds on it, I also want to use it as a keyboard controller. Everything works ok except the bottom C note, which I suspect a good air cleaning under the hood should resolve.
Anyways, the veterans will have to excuse my complete ignorance of the more complex MIDI stuff but I need an experienced person's opinion. Funny thing happened when I tried playing a VSTi booted in energyXT on my PC. I could select the VSTi's presets using the bank and number buttons on the DX100!!! I was overjoyed as you can imagine. Problem is I started going through the DX's manual and when I was done reviewing section on how to control function parameters ie. MIDI on/off, Ch Info etc , I could no longer perform my VSTi preset browsing ! So I was wondering if somebody could tell me or guess:
1............... What caused the change.
2............... In theory, how could a keyboard browse those presets like that (is it SYSEX?)
3................What part of the 6 214 583 697 501 page Logic Pro 6 manual should I read to set this all up? lol
I've read the DX100's manual but it is less than enlightening on this topic as it was made well before the day of our current DAWs.
Any insight is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Cheers

Actually scratch that last post ppl. I was just tinkering with it some more and realized that "Sys Info" was set to "off". So it wasn't the VSTi presets being called up but the DX100's individual patch info being leaked into the VSTi settings. Oscillators and waveforms being changed etc. It was kind of freaky. This has been a disappointment
