None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe they are free. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I would never mistake that for the real animal!

No,and from what I read it's standalone only no vsti/dxi versions. That was my point. I'd never want anybody to confuse this synth with the real Rhino. I realize they use the full Rhinoceros name but the picture on the gui looks familiar. Just thought 'Tick would like to know. :D

Looks like it's using gui elements from Orion/Synapse stuff too.

Yes that's the site. I found it through a link from Music Software Weekly, an e-mail newsletter.

where?

I made all of the Orion/Synapse graphics, so I should recognize them. :)

I don't see anything here that was stolen from any of our graphics. Granted, it's very similar to some of the stuff I did - keyboard looks remarkably like the old Junglist keyboard, and the GUI itself is somewhat similar to the old Bassline in Orion.

But it doesn't look like it was copied from any of our graphics - and plagiarism isn't a crime, is it? ;)

Hello everybody
I´m French so sorry my English. I´m conservatory piano teacher over twenty years. I usually read this forum but at the moment I´ve never wrote. Now I see your comments and I need to post this because I´m a VirtualS syths fan. These syths are small, compact, cheap and his perfomance is very stable, I could have 10 programs running together and they never crash my Windows. In the last 10 years I´ve tested about 1500 diferents sound, MIDI and synth programs. I don´t think Rhinoceros could compare with Rhino, they are so diferents than the only coincence is this part of the name (I don´t like this name at all). About its look, the half of the synths I test has the same controls and they have a similar perfomance. I see than VirtualS syths controls are very linked to its skins than I don´t see in any other product. I have all their products with my name only changing the background pictures and control position an size can be changed too only modifying a text file, so I think they was very original.
Best regards to all
J. Corral.

Well I've decided not to bother about it anyway.
Thanks for the information,

I didn't mean they used the exact graphics - just that it looks very similar. I was thinking of the sampler and Tomcat:

Seemed to me to be inspired at least but maybe it's not as close as I thought. Anyway - your call - as you say "flattery".

Even if it were close, which I don't think it is, plagiarism is not illegal ... I too get inspiration for my designs from other software and (mostly) hardware, y'know - I think everyone does ;)
