None of these bands mentioned that I've heard are as hardcore as Anaal Nathrahk, thats some seriously f**ked up music - in a good way.

Still yet to hear them, but a grinding riff, hard beats and screaming is always goodAcolmiztli wrote:None of these bands mentioned that I've heard are as hardcore as Anaal Nathrahk, thats some seriously f**ked up music - in a good way.

Scorn - Vae Solis
GodFlesh - Street cleaner

Unsane - Occupational Hazard
Eyehategod - Take as needed for pain
Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption
Cathedral - Forest of Equilibrium
Kiss it Goobye - She loves me & the Choke EP

Of course for hardcore in the old school sense, Discharge was really ahead of their time.
That album, "Why" was really, really, influential.

Seriously though, I was in the grindcore/death metal scene from day 1, and you wanna know where I went when the effects of that kind of music went to?
Portishead & Massive Attack mostly..They can achieve a certain refined heaviness that no amount of screaming or blastbeat can ever hope to replicate..Heaviness is a state of mind, not an amp setting, which is why you're probably wearing thin, but you still haven't heard the best stuff yet, so check out some of those names I dropped first..
One other very heavy ride in a non-metal way would be Golden Palomino's Dead Inside, but carefull with that one; one of my friends committed suicide while listening to it.

Check out the tracks 'Children are maleable' and 'Enter Weatherly Scott'..that's what I mean about being heavy without using the relying on the some old played out methods..

I was gonna mention this before, but one of my mates who was into very heavy music progressed to trip-hop and drum n bass.Sicklecell666 wrote:Seriously though, I was in the grindcore/death metal scene from day 1, and you wanna know where I went when the effects of that kind of music went to?

If you wanna very intense angry music, you can't beat singer-songwriter stuff
