The stuff i normally listen to is industrial/hardcore/techno ; the smarter stuff - very hard but not just angry-teenager kinda stuff

rude awakening, void settler, ophidian, kay d smith, armageddon project, etc

anyway .. the kicks on the above artists are still 100x harder and stronger than bloody fist crap

yeah, I know, I bought that CD when I was young...it's like 10 years old or something...still, it fun for shits and giggels...really, when I want smart music I usually listen to hardcore D'n'B

Have you ever been in the mood where it seems no music is hardcore enough? Like no music seems to be fast or intense enough.

I'm sitting in my room with Sony 700's BLARGING into my ears. I've tried Dieselboy, Dom and Roland, Tech Itch, Korn, Marylin Manson, Metallica, all that fun. It just seems the hardest metal and darkest Drum n' Bass just aren't doing the job.

So let me ask you: What songs do you listen to when nothing else seems hard enough?

Venetian Snares' "Doll Doll Doll", "Winter in the Belly of a Snake", and "Find Candace".

Neurosis is still better than all these & these are the best in my collection and memory, although I'm outta coffee & I'm not awake yet, so I'm sure I'm missing one or two..

All fantastic stuff, with my personal exception of Slipknot. Never really got into them. Regardless, you (along with Bunnyboy, dystonia_ek, and Acolmiztli) have the best damn taste in music on this board. Very rarely do I see you guys talking about something that I don't like.

None of these bands mentioned that I've heard are as hardcore as Anaal Nathrahk, thats some seriously f**ked up music - in a good way.

Still yet to hear them, but a grinding riff, hard beats and screaming is always good

For a good taste of them, listen to the song Pandemonic Hyperblast. One of the best Black Metal releases in years, if you don't mind the drum machine.

Sunn O))) is fantastic! I love Runhild Gammelsaeter, she's probably has the most extreme female growl in metal
Have you heard her old group Thorr's Hammer? (Dommedagsnatt, 1995) Great slow, dirge-like death metal. She's got a voice more brutal than most GUYS on that album!

Of course for hardcore in the old school sense, Discharge was really ahead of their time.
That album, "Why" was really, really, influential.

Although not the heaviest on the album, Religion Instigates is one of my all time fav's.

Conflict
Doom
Oi Polloi
Nausea

And personally, I don't care how elitist or wrong they were about things, sometimes, when you need to hear someone get REALLY pissed about government, there is NO substitute for CRASS. Steve Ignorant puts so much emotion behind that voice, it puts others to shame.

I've always felt that this stuff was comedic in the way that Wes Craven movies are comedic. It's almost as if there is a contest to see who can come up with the funniest song name - with the appropriate band shot of angry white boyz.
