Having seen that, I feel compelled to share a bit of ancient history.

On that compilation c.d. called "Everything falls apart and more", there is a real raw recording of the song "Do you remember?" (which, of course, is what "Husker Du" means in some language or another).

This song was recorded at a dive called 'Duffs' (which has long since been closed), in 1982.

I was there.

What is more, I was in one of the bands that led off for them that afternoon (it was an all ages show) . We were called the Blu Hippos and we were really, really bad. Especially on that day.

Really, really, bad.

But that's not all.

The other band that led off for them was called "The Replacements".

This is gonna get me in trouble, but Husker Du's one of the very few bands I never had a chance to listen to..

A lesser man would have kept quiet about that.

I salute you.

Ah yes, Duffs...I remember getting part of a PA ripped off there :( I got a call from the manager at about 4:30 one Saturday afternoon asking me if the mid-bin had come back from the shop. I said "What mid-bin coming from what shop? :? ". He said. "The mid-bin your people picked up this afternoon". I said "What people? :x "
Not one of my favorite places to play...

When you need to blur the line between music and physical pain, there's nothing quite like Merzbow.

Oh, and Strapping Young Lad is quite a fun listen. I recommend giving their album City a spin.

Try "The Negation" by Decapitated. I don't listen to much death metal, but Decapitated, er, slays... pardon the pun, lol.

Or if you want something completely f**ked up, and almost completely beyond the realm of "music", try Merzbow.
