Cool Edit 3, better known as Adobe Audition directly supports VSTs... but other than that, this might be useful:

wow! Thank you so much. I have another question that is completey differnt but I dont want another thread so here it is. Im looking for a plugin that is like the mda roundpan but it has an x-y plane where you can place the source. Reason is because mda round pan doesnt let you automate all the way around beacuae its a knob that has limits, although it does do the autopan thing. This would be very helpful especially if it was free.

This isn't exactly what you want, but, since you like autopanning stuff, it's a lot of fun!:

Oh well, cant really find anything I wanted. quadropolis kind of looked interesting but not really what I wanted. I think thats what I saw a long time ago that made me think it existed. There is a nice looking thing called 3d panner motion effects but thats a little too much. Somebody should design a roundpan that can freely pan all the way around. Is there such thing as a 360 degree knob?

not that I can see from the description. It seems like this should be a pretty simple plugin to develope. Does it just filter the signal make the signal quiter when it goes behind? Or is it something else?bduffy wrote:What about Cakewalk Plasma?

I thought that was what I was thinking of, but I carlos was right: Prosoniq's Ambisone is what you're looking for, I believe.
