Why do some devs. insist that you can't use the demo for commersial music? It's kinda hard to make tunes with this synth and wanting to test them in a serious "enviroment" with money and stuff involved...tell you what, why can't I make a few tracks with this thing ,and If they get a commersial release, (that is,the music works) and then I'll buy it?
Well, I do something similar when testing demo plugs, except my ears are the judge, not the profitability of the song... IMO that's a bit underhanded.
Obviously it's the sound that counts, but if the track relies hevily on any one sound, it's hard to really "test" it if you aren't allowed to use it in a commercial recording.

by that reckoning i should be able to go into my local music srore borrow a steinway and tell them ill pay when i get the cash back from records sold.

nope :D
sounds great (lots of character, but i like that) and the 4 envelope followers are simply fantastic to really sculpt your sounds.

Thanks man, you can see it :D

Indeed, VA is pretty simple and much of a one-trick-pony ("the synth with an eq for each voice"). It doesn't even let you modulate the lfo speed. Which is intentional, so you don't get lost in these details. And so is Q6. Basically the best of Filterscape's eqing side with 2 bands extra...

It sounds good but could use better/more presets.

Right, but only if they let you have it as "crippled" version of the "real" deal...I'm not getting a full product when trying demos (obviously) but I would like to be able to demo it properly...This "music store" analogy fails...it only really applies to warez (but even then it's weak)

sorry for the thread hijac, but I really wanted to respond to vurt's statement.

well in that case why do you want to make a commercial track with a synth/filter that emits a sound everyso often, surely after listening and playing a synth you know whether or not it is useful for you not once you know your records sell,so therefore the analogy does not fail,it is your logic that does ;)

No! The EQ is just great and could be released in some standalone form as well IMO.
It's one of the few EQs not resulting in sound artifacts when you tweak parameters like mad.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

I love to disagree here! :-D

I have to admit though that the presets don't really do it justice - and the missing delay of course does the rest to make it appear more bland at first sight than it really is.... ;-)

Excuse the white noise near the end, but this puppy doesn't appear to be for sale yet
Great stuff!

Well, hehe, it actually *IS* on sale (codes for Mac version also work on the Win version!), but I havn't had the time to set up the introduction offer + website for this event

Cheers,

You need to hurry up with starting that offer thing, this money is burning a hole in my pocket :hyper:

No prob.

However fact is, if I do not cripple the demo in any way, I will not earn nearly enough money to make a living. Thus I couldn't afford to write plugins. Or I'd have to do it in the leisure time. Which I did. But it takes too long for my taste, and doesn't let me concentrate on the stuff I like to do.

When I don't want to have the demo commercially exploited then I also mean that nobody is authorized to sell the demo, nor is anybody authorized to make a commercial sample bank from the presets. How would producing a commercial song fit into this? - I wouldn't know where to draw the line. So instead of drawing a line, I just don't do it. Which I am authorized to ;)

Cheers,

;) Urs

Between 12 and 24 hours from now. Promised. Depends on how many beers I manage to slurp and - most of all - when. Ah, I go downstairs to the pub now (which I've been saying to myself for over an hour...)

(oh and I have to fix a newly discovered bug that sometimes makes strange names when saving a preset... eeeek!)

Cheers,

;) Urs

Late to the party but boy 8)

Ever since I came across MFM I desired for more stuff for PC but it never came,

until now :hyper:

My hats off to you sir for a succesfull cross-over to PC (which I somehow knew you'd be able to conquer)

This machine is FANTASTIC :!:

superb sound quality and very intuitive to use, with a CPU meter that hardly moves.

Now I lust for Z only more

I can bounce the sound that I need...even if it's only a short stab...but the demo license permits me from doing so...why?

The problem with presets and FS (especially the main filter plug and Q6) is that your settings really end up being VERY source specific, so presets really don't help that much. It's definitely a plug that I reach for to create with, not just to drop in a track.
