i think the production has a sort of "purity of intent". like "this is our sound!".

Aye, and I think Discovery had the unique filtery, phasy, 80s retro, Daft Punk sound while SIMULTANEOUSLY being brimfilled with catchy hooks... In fact I think catchy 80s flavour hooks are part of their style. Same with Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You or even that Modjo tune... It's all the same peopleclueless wrote:i think the production has a sort of "purity of intent". like "this is our sound!".![]()

Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

As I said before I think this is just the top of the iceberg(!) it's mainstream and it's the kind of track you ear in a club without searchin' if it as been done by the daft or somebody else.
BTW this track is a good way to see that they can understand current "hype" for Rock (U all know it 2005 will be rock revival
take this guitar out of its box)and they turn this sound into their own style.
IMO is that they didn't work on the music aspect but more on the sound itself: loud and overcompressed.
Listen to some live rock track and you'll get nearly the same feel but imagine it in a club @ 2:AM, IMO it will seriously rock.
Anyway I think/wish (I didn't heard the full album)all the tracks won't be the same....
to be continued

Confirmed, it's not a fake. The real CD is the same that leaked copy.
Bought it because I'm sure this album is a message, who knows, maybe watermarked digitally on CD. Daft Punk want to say us something but I have no fukcing idea of what.
Or maybe worst 20 euros spend ever.

and should hit the dancefloor quite well too - the first place this music was intended to.

agree with r3no...maybe we'll see the daft in some new music for their next album, just hope it don't gonna be Trance :)I really would like to see them making funk or hiphop/RnB
they have the potential to do so
