speaking of smashing pumpkins....
janes addiction....
how can a band that was so good make such crap now? It's like…..they should have just left it alone after ritual and they would have went down as one of the best bands ever.
….but no…they had to "sort of" get back together and put out "strays"
has anyone of you heard this cd? total cheese. unacceptable cheese IMO
It's understandable why Eric Avery said "no way"

yeah, I wish that they would have released better stuff after ritual, but dave navarro went hollywood, and everyone knows that you make shitty music after that happens...

yeah, David went super cheesy.
I used to look up at him as a guitar player but now he is embarrassing and his guitar playing is lame.
Perry solo album wasn't too bad....and the porno stuff was pretty good.
...much better than that last Janes album.

The Avery/Navarro project "Deconstruction" continues to rock my world as one of my all-time favorite albums. I even sampled from it on a competition entry a few months back.
But that was more than a decade ago now...

Strays is less cheesy imo, but the guitar playing is more "contemporary," meaning more rhythm and fewer oppertunities to show off. The crazy guitar stuff and dub parodies are gone. They sound more like U2 with heavier guitars.
Do you really want the same album all over again though?
Oh, I've never seen such a samplable album as nothing shocking. =)

my opinion on strays... is that the best song on that cd is not even as good as the worst song off anything else they did.
the opening guitar riff on that strays cd is about as lame as it gets. i love perkins but I thought the drumming was lame as well.
no offense to anyone that likes it.
