I just got a Roland A-37 to go with my Radium61. I want to play the Roland A-37 primarily, and control VSTs with the Radium61.

In FL Studio, it seems I can only choose one controller or the other. True?

In Live, I can easily use both controllers, but Live will not let me automate VST parameters unless the VST itself has functionality built-in for this. True?

Can anyone tell me which host (or how) I can use so that I can play my Roland A-37 controller while fiddling with knobs on the Radium 61?

Thanks,

maybe through rewireing fL and Live, dunno, but try it

i think u will need a midi merge box.

Thanks for the responses. Hadn't thought of the MIDI Merge but that I suppose should work, although I am trying to run both keyboards via USB, at least at the moment.

I figured out that in Live you can automate the parameters by first unfolding them. You can't always tell which parameter corresponds to which dial (or whatever GUI widget), but other than that, it more or less works.

Midi-OX will allow you to use multiple midi devices in Fruity. It's free and you can find it at http://www.midiox.com/

Thanks I'll give it a try

FLStudio will only accept one MIDI input at a time. You can use a hardware or software merger (like MidiOX+MidiYoke) to combine them.

There's a difference between MIDI automation and VST automation. Some instruments support only one of them, some support both. There are plugins that can translate one into the other (EnergyXT for example), and some hosts can translate MIDI to VST automation (Fruity's "link to controller" for example).
