what programs do you good folks use to extract .zip and .rar files? i used to use an old version of 'extractnow' which was perfect for my workflow but the other day i (foolishly) updated to their newest version and much of the functionality of the old was gone or not working properly (unless it's me not working properly).
so basicly i'm on the hunt for a simple new extraction program which which you can send multiple files to, get them all to extract in thier own directory and then automatically delete the compressed file after extraction.
any suggestions would be appreciated...cheers.

I've used WinZip since very early versions, and like it. But it won't handle RAR format. To handle both formats you could get WinRAR or a Windows version of the Mac user's favorite, Stuffit.

ZipGenius. Free and really powerful. Grab the latest v6 RC1, which has better support for multiple file extraction.
