The fact that anyone is missing out on stuff, and that the "attitude" you thought was dangerous to for instance art also applies there. Unless that hit was "before" that persons "time" though eh? People today know of old hits. The ones that are big enough. Applies to art, music, technology etc. And yes, I think it's unreasonable. People tend to find out about stuff they are interested in, it's not up to you to judge how people should maintain their own interests.
