I have seen units that you plug into the wall and your surge protectors into them in order to give you cleaner power for analog gear?

Right now I have 2 technics that are sounding like they are having some serious power issues (the problems are hard to explain but I know for a fact via trouble shooting that it is a power issue).

Could someone tell me what these units do? Any particular model do you prefer?

As I understand it, AC power from the wall isn't always at the same voltage. This is bad for power supplies that convert AC to DC. A power conditioner takes the AC current from the wall and does some stuff--I have no clue what--to keep the voltage as constant as possible. That's all I know about it, but I'm sure there's some electrical engineers who can chime in with more details.

there are constant power fluctuations in any home setup. If you have really nice or serious stuff, and want to protect them, and possibly get better preformance, you do need a power conditioner. I dont use one, but i have a $350 CPU, $100 monitor, $350 synth/controller/ $75 speakers, and $11 headphones, so **** em, haha.

Look for a UPS (uninterruptable power supply) that has AVR (automatic voltage regulation). That will do you good.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".
