I am just wondering. Some of you folks seem to have pretty much weird setups from either an ergonomical or sonical point of view.
A MIDI keyboard with the double height of the QWERTZ/Y keyboard placed before that.
Monitors placed elsewhere but between your speakers (even if it's obviously people are mixing in software).
To me the optimum setup would be a MIDI keyboard on a drawer below the desktop. Then, the monitors would in any case be placed between the speakers. I couldn't imagine mixing while looking left or right.
A short while ago my setup looked like this:

It has changed a bit (especially the plants are feeling WAY better again, just in case Jens would care...), but basically it's the same arrangement of things.
When I'm gonna move houses (probably in winter or next spring) the first thing I'm gonna get is a dedicated desk to place the MIDI keyboard below it on a drawer - and I'm gonna get rid of both the ones you can see on this picture (and I'll defenitely get rid of the super-ugly curtains...).

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Here's my setup on a day where most of the guitars where elsewhere and before I got the dual G5:
