Hey Putte, I had a similair thing with Sony, well more the little subsidery, Sony were allways cool about things. Did a track, spent ages getting it right, did the video for MTV... it was getting radio play everywhere, Judge Jules played it all the time, it was even used to advertise when Eastenders was on ...the background music.

Basically the track was hot, but the company that was working for Sony, I can't really mention it... but they kept dragging their heels making me remix it and remix it until it was an overproduced pile of crap.

It was ready for release, was still getting lots of airplay..... but they said oh it's half way through summer, lets catch the begining of sumer next year..... well by then it had lost it's fire, we had allready done all the radio and magazine interviews, so to wait for another 6 months was silly!!!!

It got released and went straight in an No 69 ha ha ha what a number to go in the UK charts at, but because it didn't go top ten straight away on its first week, the subsidery company they pulled it and stopped selling it.

I don't understand it, ok it wasn't going to go to number 1 but they could have maybe re couperated the money by letting it stay in the charts and maybe grow. I remember watching Top of the Pops when I was young and watching bands slowly creep up the charts. Now you are in and out. It was sily, because it was voted top tune 3 weeks running on Judge Jules radio 1 show. Really f**ks me off.

Rant over :D

spacemansounds .. "top" story! .. thanks for sharing even though its a terrible read .. sorry for that. :(

well, another story that simply proves what it is about nowadays. and we all know it: them and us.

dekky: i actually could easily take it as an offence when someone tellls me "hey, why dont you do it in german?", but i heard that phrase way too often. and whenevery someone says it its clear why he says it.
and furthermore: i know exactly why i do it in engerlish .. they shouldnt doubt that. :)

where i come from, major labels aren't probably quite as influential as they are overseas... but i find it disheartening that someone who is such a good musician has to go to such an awful thing as a major label to get the money they need to live and be what they are. does it have to be this way? ah, who knows. i hope you get what you deserve putte sir, that is - a good deal, a decent living and the ability to keep hold of your creativity.
this statement is unprovable

But THEY didn't call the record industry ARSCHGESICHTER, they are very pleased with THOSE people :hihi:
they simply mean a band that began with them and plays before 10 000 people now whereas they follow any trend and it doesn't help them like they want to :hihi:

I'm sorry to have to break it to you Mr Schnitzel, but a man from EMI has bought the international rights to the 'legend of the red ball' series for £1000000.

Can you please remove it from your site forthwith otherwise you will be hearing from my solicitors in due course.
