Hi,

'Space Boy' v2.04 includes a feature that enables export of the 'Wormhole' frequencies to a file on disc - the 'Space Out' button.

Thanks to Aleksey, the recently released Voxengo 'GlissEQ' v2.5 now includes a feature which enables importing of this 'Space Boy' EQ file.

Now it is possible to identify the competing frequencies in a mix using 'Space Boy' and then easily import those frequencies directly into 'Gliss EQ'!

That's very cool, though the reason I'd use space boy is because of the realtime adaptive EQ.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Now you have more options.

Looks like I could build a similar function into GlissEQ itself. :)

go on son

and could you make it have a sidechain - so i could feed the offending signal in and get that to trigger gliss eq fx on the target signal

i don't suppose saying i'd buy one straight away would help any

but you can't blame me for trying
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Very interesting - I have both plugins and will try this out soon. Hmmm could lead to some interesting possibilities and futures...Good teamwork Paul & Aleksey!

Eric, I was planning to use GlissEQ's spectrum overlay function for this - no need for another side-chain in this scenario.

Aleksey - if you can make this work with no latency, you're a hero. I have wanted something like SpaceBoy for a while, but teh latency makes it unusable in some hosts.

In fact, I think I emailed you about doing exactly this quite some time ago :) Do it!! :)

The complexity of the math involved makes it seem unlikely that a zero latency version would be possible with current processors. It's not a limitation of Paul's code, it's a limitation of the enormity of what's being accomplished!

Unusable in what way? I can't imagine using it for a realtime effect anyhow, so even a latency of 2 full seconds wouldn't bother me. ;)

It's exactly what I want in a realtime effect. I want to tweak on one filtered percussion line cutoff and have that perc line cut through a big fat pad.

Fair enough. ;) I just don't imagine the maths are simple enough for a realtime effect.

Tim,

I should point out that the ideas and functionality behind 'Space Boy' are Elevayta proprietary. In other words, nobody should copy the functionality of 'Space Boy' without my explicit agreement. As far as I am aware, I have no such agreement with Aleksey or Voxengo.

Pauk - no offense, but I have email dated long before Space Boy came to exist describing the same basic idea. I'm registered on a couple of your products, so I don't want to be a jerk, but you don't have any exclusive rights to this idea :)

Post

depends if it's patented or not.

There's room enough for both Wide Boy and Voxengo plugs in my world - I have both

Assuming the same basic idea for any plug the results will sound different as well as the uses will be different - good thing!
