Just put a "negative delay" on that channel in the pararmeter box. If you know the latency in samples you can do the math to get milliseconds and actually enter the corrective delay in ms.

I've lost the fight. Logic 7 upgrade on order.

Of course I don't own a mac...yet.

I allready got mine...

Same here. And it won't happen all that soon either as the only machine making sense would be a dual G5, which would be too much of an expense for me right now.

We have a single 1.6 G5 that runs Logic very nicely at my work, I'm sure a dualie would work very nicely. If I could afford it, I'd definitely get one myself. I really doubt I'd be disappointed. Even my 667 Ti runs LE7 surprisingly well. Freeze helps a lot though.

No, not at all. Seriously, BONES, I have been working quite a lot with the two dual G5s I am maintaining at the local conservatory. I wouldn't happen to know about their performance when using something else, but using Logic (6, not 7 - which seems to be a nightmare) is a pure pleasure. Performance heaven, really!

You may by now know that I'm in no way defending Apple, Macs and their strategy at all - but Logic 6 (and probably 7 soon as well) and a dual G5 is like the most powerful combo I've ever worked with (and yes, I have been working with dual CPU Windows machines allready too).

Their powerbooks are POS's. So are the specs of the dual G5s (2 HDDs and 3 PCI cards max. are actually making me laugh). But performance under LogicPro is ace, nothing less. You gotta try it to believe (I'm in the same boat as you, so I didn't before I actually worked with them).

pros; a) i know the program. b) its paid for. c) it has great recycle implementation. d) it has a great sampler (exs24). e) it's good for midi and remote control (mackie, behringer...) f) its stable and most of all g) i know how to use it.

con's; a) no plug in delay comp on busses. b) buggy when using certain vsti's (intakt / kontakt).

to jump, i'd have to go to cubase or sonar... that's a pretty big hit on the credit card, and a pretty big re-learning curve...
Recently I've worked in two pro studio, one for film production, the other for thoroughbred rock and roll. The 1st studio had Pro tools on G4 and crashed more times in a day than I have this year. The other was Logic6 on G4 and didn't have its own metronome sound never mind delay comp'! I go home to my P4, 2Gig SX2 rewired to Ableton Live and Gigastudio and breath a sigh of relief. But I've spent a long time getting the system right. If you're spending more time fighting with what you've got than making music, then not putting it right wastes everything you've already spent because you're not even learning from your mistakes..you're just repeating them!

That's got to be the thread crowded with the most brainless morons ever. I almost registered just to tell them.

If you can't find out how to change velocities in Logic's matrix editor you should probably stay away from computers at all.

Nuff said.

Well, I actually hate just about anything in OSX's GUI (it's nice under the hood though). I prefer the Windows way of doing things any day - and yes, just recently I've been working with OSX quite regularly.

There's just one thing I like with OSX: Logic.
