or in other words: congratulations - you entirely missed my point!

I'll agree with the pitch inflections of some languages as almost being singing, but when you hear the songs written in these languages, there's still an amount of control that takes it above speaking.

it's just different I think...

b.t.w.: the chinese themselves have sometimes problems with speaking/hearing the right tone so that e.g. customers sometimes end up in the wrong department of a store when they're asking a shop-assistant for certain things... shock:

Yea, the pitch used in Chinese language fascinates me. I guess it might be analogous to the English To, Too, Two.

But my on topic(?) answer is, because singing a melody, known to exist in Pop and R&B, is a bitch!

Final answer... Pitch is a bitch! :)

I think you will find that its related to how much you are willing to pay. Professional vocalists dont come cheap.

This is partly true, I would add that it applies to all languages.
I studied a bit of psycholinguistics in college.
As a child, you learn the tones necessary for your comprehension of whatever language you are hearing. That is why most native Japanese speakers cannot say "la la la" without saying "ra ra ra". The interesting thing is that the tonal differences are much more an attribute of perception as opposed to reproduction.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

where did I say it's harder?

Please quote me or stfu! :tantrum:
b.t.w.:

disenfranchisement

yes, that's exactly what I meant - speaking is so hard to learn you usually need to start it at an early age to get it right...
