the nerd music thing was tongue in cheek based on that thread not long ago.

I wanna get the bass to cut a little more and the panned guitar in the middle section still bugs me a bit.

pretty damn faithful to the genre..it's cool to see this style done today..Doesn't have that early 90's gloss to it though :P You need to double the vocals, especially on the chorus parts, add verb to the guitars and synth leads, bump the low end EQ on the bass..the snare sounds great, all the drums stuff sounds really good..

great debut :D

Do a cover of 'This Corrosion'!

Thanks dude,
we got about 7 more songs to try to get through before we get to any covers. Appreciate the opinions.

sounds good, Bake! looking forward to more

now if only more people would post tracks in rebuttal to [whatever genre] instead of 20 pages of text wankerage ;)

Marketing 101

but seriously, I haven't heard anything else in this vein in the cafe before (not that I've heard everything here of course).
i.e., pop arrangement, good vocals (IMO-it's not me BTW), big hooks, something you might hear on modern rock radio. So it was a bit of an attempt to show that person that other stuff gets posted here also...

start your own thread.

seriously, I appreciated your opinion and all. I don't mind hearing criticism that's negative or whatever. I but didn't see a need for you to post your own tunes in my thread to try to prove some point.

I don't really want to get off on a bad foot, so I'll just say Peace man, I'll check some of your stuff out.

Those links I posted ARE to my own threads! :o

I simply invited you to check out my music after I had given you an honest critique of yours. I even defended your pop music posting. There was no attempt at thread hijacking. Anyone visiting those links would have been expected to post comments to those threads, not clog your precious little thread with idle chatter.

Fair enough though, I suppose if I start mentioning my music in the middle of a thread about your music, it might lead to all sorts of "horrible" things, such as pirating all your "fans" away. Maybe I should copy your style as well, while I'm at it? Sort of like the way you copied the style of Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Jesus & Mary Chain, and Tubeway Army?

Consider me gone.

I think you're being a wee bit sensitive about this.
So in all fairness, I will check some of your threads out. Honestly didn't click on the links so didn't know they were threads and not songs.

pirating my "fans"...
at least I can see you have a decent sense of wit about you.

Post

oh now, it was all in good fun from the beginning ... no need for anyone to get all ruffled and huffy

I'm sure McLilith linked to those threads in a humorous spirit of "nerd music rebuttal" or something like that, not for self-promotion ;)

[edit: well I took my time typing that, didn't I? ;)]
