I'm going to buy an Edirol UA-25 for a friend, and I have to buy online (Australia is a fnck'n backwater). I'm leaning towards dealing with Audiomidi, as they seem reputable and trustworthy. I haven't heard any bad reviews of them either (not like MF...). Has anyone here had any good/bad experience with Audiomidi?

I don't mind paying a little extra to deal with a "big name". Like I said, the UA-25 is probably two to three times the price if I buy locally...

audiomidi is excellent. Ive ordered from them as well as gone to their physical office because its only about 20 miles from me. cool guys, great service.

I've ordered several times from them and have nothing but good things to say about them. One time they did include the wrong item in my order, but after I contacted them about the problem, they immediately shipped me the correct item before they even received the wrong item that I shipped back to them.

Me too says "me too." Great, quick, no troubles. I usually buy from them or zzounds. (But I don't think zzounds ships to Oz.)

I've ordered a fair bit of stuff from there and never had any issues (other than customs holding stuff for a few extra days).

I got my MOTU 828mkII from there, as well as NI Komplete + 2005 care....

Were there any other charges other than the cost of the item and Audiomidi's shipping cost? Did you have to pay any import duty/tax, GST, whatever?

Also, how long did it take for the gear to reach you?

Usually they ship via UPS, and UPS will (usually) on-charge you import duty and/or GST, which they send as a seperate bill.

It can take up to a week or so for stuff to arrive, particularly as it seems that customs like to take extra time to look at "urgent" deliveries

, so I never bother with the express service.

Having said that, UPS give you a tracking number, so you always know where your stuff is, and why.
