I remember reading something a while back about Muon producing a commercial sample CD for the DS-404. Any news of progress on this? (...maybe I imagined it, in which case what do you think of the idea??)

We are most definately still working on it! The general content of the CD will be vintage keys and synths.
We've gotten hold of some great old instruments - for example...
Steinway Grand
Hammond M102
Fender Rhodes
Wurlitzer EP200
Hohner Pianet T
Hohner Clavinet D6
Moog Prodigy
Roland SH101
...and many more!
If Christmas starts to loom and we still haven't finished trimming and looping this vast stack of material the CD will be out in the new year. Watch this space - I might post a few examples for people to download soon!
Kind regards
Dave

Funny - I was just thinking today "whatever happened to the rumoured Muon DS-404 sample CD? Please don't let it be vapourware..."
I look forward to the opportunity to make this my first ever sample CD. Any idea on the price at all? I'm moving house in just over a month and the bond alone is going to kill me, not to mention Christmas...

It should be about 35 GBP (not including shipping).

Thanks for the info, Dave.
That's near $100 in plasticy colonial money
(which is still cheap compared with other sample CDs which tend to retail at least 50% again... *sigh* still doesn't help me own it any time soon)
Take your time with the CD, take your time. I can't afford it any time soon...
(I haven't had much of a chance to really get in to CM101 or DS404, but at the initial touches, they seem like damn fine things for a simple and untalented man like me
Keep up the good work! )

...thanks for the update Dave. Glad to hear its still in progress - I'm certainly looking forwards to it. Is the CD likely to be all keys? I'm always on the lookout for good Orchestral sounds...

I thought maybe I overexaggerated the exchange but a quick check using a (admittedly unverified converter at http://www.xe.com/ucc/) it came through almost spot on the moneyNeil Palfreyman wrote:btw smp - £35=$100 ????? ...what exchange rate you working on?
35GBP = AU$98
