These are Chinese instrument soundfonts (a lot of drums too), maybe this is sort of what you were looking for?

Stormdrum and QL RA have all the ethnic percussion you could ever want, but they're a bit pricey.

For cheaper stuff, you could check out the World samples at SampleFusion (http://www.samplefusion.com). They're pretty nice.
