Under 10ms latency in standalone?

Is it possible. In standalone mode I run rhino2 at 10ms. If I change it to 9ms there is a loud, unpleasant noise. Anyone else experience this sort of thing.

AMD2000XP
1gb ram
Terratec EWX2496 running (happily) at 7ms

Which standalone are you using ? The default one, or the one with ASIO support which is available in the "private files" area ?
Anyway, I recommend using MiniHost for standalone operation.

I think I am using the default one. I'll just check out the ASIO one and see if it is different. I have not been using minihost because i thought the included one would be a lighter on the cpu program.

The latency seems better usin rhino2asio.exe although it still says set at 10ms even though the soundcard is set at 7ms.

I'll use minihost if I have any more problems.

May I suggest MiniHost..and a new AMD CPU... 3000 or better maybe...

I already invested in minihost. A GREAT little program. The cpu will have to wait but it's on the list. Unfortunately minimonsta out bid it.

The keyboard position is different on each version. Is there a way to change that? The asio versio is an octave lower.

Anyone else has this problem too ? That's puzzling...

Have you tried it. Strange no one else noticed it but then again, I would never have if not for the need to see which exe version has the lower latency.

Well I use the default standalone for debugging, and the asio when doing sound design. So I use both quite frequently, and never noticed that...

I fixed it. Apparently I can move my hands one octave to the right with very little effort.

It's no biggie. I can't play a keyboard for shit anyway.
