How could it be my own conclusion if the conclusion will only be that it's the best software eq ever?
i guess the joke was a little too dry... yes you're right of course.

Come on, you know better than that!

Great Sound, but.....
1. I can't set precise freqency numbers. Is there a way to type in say "15k?"

2. CPU is heavy on a P4 3.0E
with 1gb DDR.

3. Its ok but for $145, I would expect a lot more control over the frequency settings.

I'll wait for the update...

I use this as my reference http://www.recordingeq.com/rw/tip15.html when I mix.

Washing them out helps a lot... Good grief! :nutter:

I don't see 15,000k on that chart. By the way, if this works and you're actually able to specify this frequency, then I'm buying that thing right away to get back at my neighbor's dog, and maybe shatter a few wine glasses on the other side of my house.

OooooooooooooooooooooK!!! Next! :dog:

Seriously though, 15,000 KHz is 15,000,000 Hz or 15E6 Hz, which is somewhere in the range used for AM radio broadcasts, I believe. This obviously isn't going to shatter any wine glasses. :phones:

EDIT: It's in the HF range, which is above AM, but below short wave radio, VHF, FM, etc. AM radio frequencies stop at about 1630 KHz if I'm not mistaken.

Umm.. you can set it to 14917Hz. This is pretty damn close to 15khz. Remeber, it's a logarithmic scale so missing a few Hz way up there doesn't really do any damage.

If you need an ultra precise eq then this is not it. Buy voxengo gliss EQ instead then. This eq is, In my opinion, for gentle wide shaping and tuning, not precision tweaking.

Cheers!

Hydratone is for adding the special voodoo vibes to tracks.
In the past few days, I've removed 50% of the compression from my new songs. I was overcompressing to get this kind of fire/secret mojo. This is beautiful.
It really brings out the spit and rumble/death-rattle of stringed instruments. And a little 15k and fire knob at 2 lights a fire on a drum kit.

you can say things like that with every new synth/outboard/program/car.
but which software-eq is in the same league as hydratone when you boost? no workarounds dude, answer this question. because most other eqs simply aren't.
It's called experience and dedication to get the tools at your disposal to do what you want them to do.
you can achieve great results with stock plug-ins, you can make great tracks with one sampler. you can a lot. i like hydratone because i can get a great sound really fast.
StudioTan wrote: For example, I can manipulate an eq (like Voxengo's CurveEq) in such a way to sound as good as boosting any frequency using Hydratone. Yes, it will take a little longer. If the phase/transients, etc. need to be manipulated, I can use other tools and tricks to get the desired results. It may not sound the same, but it will
sound just as good.
depends on your taste imho. i like the sound i can get with my uad-1-plugins and hydratone. that doesn't mean you can't great results with other things, but i get a better vocalsound with1176ln and hydratone, then req and rcomp.
StudioTan wrote: I have no doubt about this. The "relative convenience" of such a plugin becomes more of just a tool.
there are always favorite tools for different tasks.

Anyone can, but the diehard Waves users that forked over all that cash would disagree. :hihi:

=O.o= Maybe a better name than Hydratone would be John the Conquer Root.
