Maybe, but using on a send channel isn't that nuts.visilia wrote:not to sound blunt or anything, but inserting some super heavy sampler instrument to use it's convolution effect sounds rather silly.

Lazlo,
Here is the question sent and response I received from NI Tech Support re/ the application of the Kontakt 2 convolution reverb.
REQUEST: 5410:
Kontakt 2 Convolution Reverb?
DESCRIPTION:
Regarding Kontakt 2, is the included convolution reverb effect usable on other, non-Kontakt tracks? In other words, if I have an audio vocal track (or other softsynth track) on my sequencer, can I apply the Kontakt reverb to it?
I know that other NI products (e.g., Pro-53) have provided its effects separately so that they can be applied universally on any sequencer track. If the Kontakt convolution reverb doesn't currently allow this, will this be provided in an update in the future?
Thanks
David
RESPONSE:
Dear David,
Kontakt 2 will not offer such a feature. At the moment I cannot tell you if this option will be included in future updates.
Best regards,
Stefan Mueller

i have the feeling that they'll release a seperate convolution fx someday. combine it with some vocator and spectral delay and it could be a killer fx. probably for killer $$$$ too

Well, if I get it for free via Komplete Care... cool! But I want a good convolution reverb soon, so I doubt I'll wait that long.

Just recieved my copy of Kontakt 2 and the library is a massive improvement over version 1 (the orchestra and piano soundbanks are particularly impressive on first listening).
Another improvement is that native instruments have made abig improvement on workflow with easier access to fx etc Also, I haven't really scratched the surface of the script editor but it definitly offers something that other samplers don't have.
Only problem so far is I use the convolution fx then I have to put my latency to 10 to play in real time - not sure whether this is the drivers or the fact that it is convolution and it does a lot of number crunching.

well it was just a wild guess from my side. if you want something now, I'd say you should check voxengo's pristine space, but that one's not free.Lazlo Minimart wrote:Well, if I get it for free via Komplete Care... cool! But I want a good convolution reverb soon, so I doubt I'll wait that long.

Yeah. I don't mind sending Aleksey my cash, tho. I seem to do so about every other month.

Has anyone ordered this from AudioMidi.com? How do they check if you're qualified for the upgrade price? (I'll probably send them an email shortly...)

One of the most prolific, talented developers around. Exceptionally fair pricing, as well.Lazlo Minimart wrote:Yeah. I don't mind sending Aleksey my cash, tho. I seem to do so about every other month.

Torhan, I'm pretty sure they are qualified. I saw Florida Music Co. and Sweetwater both offering the same price (the latter with free shipping).

Sorry to bring this up again but does anyone know the answer to this? - I'm really itching to put in my order for the upgrade asap.
