ah... if I didn't already have a work-flow going in FLS<=>eXT this would would do the trick (at least from the specs sheet). Sequencing in eXT is sweet, load 20 instances of projects in FL and select between them using Live View and route to FL's excellent mixer.

Damn right.90909 wrote:Not to encourage any software studio wars, but I dont think people would be looking to buy both if they dont own one already. They are very much in competition with each other. There will be VS wars between these big time.Markleford wrote:I'd hope that people would see the potential of P5v2 *with* Reason, rather than comparing.90909 wrote:There will be a whole new era in vs threads, with this and Reason soon.

Project5 v2
Live 4
Reason 3
FL Studio 5 (my host)
The War of the Soft Studios is about to get nasty.
And where in the hell is a Orion 6 when we need to see one?

To tell you the truth, P5 v2 looks a lot like what Ableton was thinking about in the long-term with Live.stale bread wrote:P5 looks sick, I'm definitely gonna spill some pennies for this one, it looks perfect for those folks who love ableton Live and sonar, looks like the best of both and like a good combo for my team of live and fL. cakewalk really listen to people, of all of the bigboys
they have the least ego, only prob i'm seeing is that basicly it's almost a Live clone and if Ableton does us right Live 5 might have all of what p5 has and more... oh well I guess thats just how it goes, i'll still have both
But Cakewalk beat them to it.

This is my favourite quote from the website...
'Read what beta testers have to say about Project5 Version 2:
What do you like best about GrooveMatrix?
“Its a total groove box! Fantastic for getting a groove going.”'
...if you didnt want it before you will now

Agreed. The fun starts again when Live 5 is announced, until then at least P5 has a head start for me.TVD wrote: To tell you the truth, P5 v2 looks a lot like what Ableton was thinking about in the long-term with Live.

It looks like audio and midi can appear on the *same* track but on different lanes, along with separate mute on/off controls for each lane within a track! Sonar 4 Producer does not even have that
have a look at Track 1

they definately compete with each other, but none of them work the same way. for instance, nothing can beat FL's pianoroll, just like nothing can beat Live for working with loops in a live setting. Reason is the one to go to if you like working with hardware, and now Project 5 will find something to excel at as well.

The Rgc deal is really going to help Cakewalk with P5.z3Ta alone costs about £100!tkay77 wrote:..but they have added a powerful sample synthesizer with 3 GB of content for free...hey they still don't have Lives clip automation and routing.![]()

With P5 you have Psyn v.2 and the dimension sampler which could probably retail for £100 each. Throw in the a full on sequencer with audio and midi recording, velocity , npulse, Ds864 e.tc and the price for P5 is not bad at all.

It looks like they do have something similar to Live's clip automation. Look at the bottom picture on this page:stale bread wrote:hey they still don't have Lives clip automation and routing.

Sounds like it will support some interesting routing too. Hard to say how it compares to Live though.
This is definitely a shot across the bow of both Reason and Live. Competition is good.

I'm totally addicted to Live's session view. If P5 can combine that with other stuff like freeze this might be an excellent host.Igor 4000 wrote: However I don't really see any advantages of P5 over, say, FLStudio...except maybe for the freezing.
FL doesn't have any kind of pattern-oriented composer like that, does it?

..there´s also a transient-tool inside of the slice-editor..think about, if you can automate it...great for vocal effects...It looks like they do have something similar to Live's clip automation. Look at the bottom picture on this page:
