Was in one of those uppidy stores in the mall that sells overpriced pillows and calculators and alarm clocks. They had one of those $100 sound devices that plays nature sounds like: thunderstorms, rain, ocean, blah blah. Am I paying $100 for something like that? No. I'll burn a disc of mp3s and throw it in a player next to my bed.

So, anyone got some linx?

I'd second the "record it yourself" idea, if I could find an affordable setup to do field recordings (or at the very least, a really, really long extension cord for my microphone)...

Also, on the Mac side, there's a program called Forest - it used to be shareware, but they now give it away for free (last I checked), and it comes with some decent sound environments and samples. I created a few environments for it, although I'm not sure if they're still up on the web.
